Import Export Code (IEC) Registration
What is an Import Export Code?
The Import Export Code, commonly known as IEC, is a mandatory registration required by anyone looking to import or export goods and services outside India. Issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, the IEC is a unique 10-digit code that serves as a fundamental requirement for international trade. Quite simply, no business or individual can legally undertake import or export activities in India without first obtaining an IEC.
